We understand, even 5 years later, this is an area of varying opinions. To find objective and more qualified guidelines than ourselves, our policy is designed to be in compliance with the regulations set forth by the State of Rhode Island. We are trying to make the best of imperfect circumstances.

Attendees have very differing levels of comfort. Some may choose to wear a mask at all times, while others may opt not to do so depending on current guidelines and personal considerations. Always respect the choices of your fellow attendees. Whether someone is wearing a mask or not, treat them with courtesy, kindness, and understanding.

  1. ADHERENCE TO RHODE ISLAND COVID-19 GUIDELINES

We will follow all relevant guidelines and mandates issued by the Rhode Island Department of Health (RIDOH). This includes regulations on mask use, vaccination recommendations, physical distancing, and any other requirements in place at the time of the convention.

For the most up-to-date information on Rhode Island’s COVID-19 guidelines, please refer to the official state website at: https://covid.ri.gov

  1. TEST

We are counting on your integrity on this action item. Above and beyond Rhode Island COVID-19 Guidelines, we need all con attendees to test before registration. We know some people disagree with having to test. However, it only takes a minute to test and 15 minutes to verify you are negative. Please take an honest minute to do this for every one else. On any day you are performing in shadowcasting production(s), we ask you test again. We realize there is a cost for these tests. We will provide tests for those who need them.

  1. SELF-AWARENESS AND REPORTING

Regardless of a negative test result or performing in a production, the community is ultimately counting on your integrity to self-report and isolate yourself if you feel yourself coming down with something. Please report any such occurrences to Hank Johnson – hankthecrank@gmail.com.

  1. PANEL OF HEALTH PROFESSIONALS

In addition to following state and local regulations, we will have access to professionals from the Rhode Island Public Health Association. This panel will be available to:

Monitor ongoing public health recommendations as the event date approaches.

Advise convention organizers on additional measures that may be necessary to promote attendee health and safety.

Guide convention organizers if any public health concerns arise.

We will communicate any recommended adjustments to our COVID-19 protocols as soon as they are confirmed, ensuring you have the most current information.

If you have any questions or concerns about this policy, please reach out to Hank Johnson – hankthecrank@gmail.com .
