The core RKO Con security team consists of TJ Monjay, Cassia Autumn, and Roy Rossi.
Roy Rossi (401) 353-8168; on FB Messenger as Roy Rossi; roy-rossi@cox.net (email not much help at con itself)
TJ Monjay (401) 388-0860

Please directly contact TJ, Cassia, or Roy. TJ and Cassia might be more available at the convention than Roy, but feel free to contact all 3. We want to know about any and all security concerns that you have.

There will be many hundreds of people at this convention. Please feel free to talk to us about anything or anyone that has you afraid and/or anxious. Do not think “I don’t want make a big thing out of it”. We don’t need to take any action or let anyone know that you contacted us, we can just be quietly aware of the situation. Not everyone in RKO Army is on the security team, but everyone in RKO Army should be able to help you find TJ, Cassia, or Roy.

A LACK OF CONSENT WILL NOT BE TOLERATED IN ANY AND ALL FORMS!

  • Please remember “consent” is not limited to sexual issues. Consent is any social interaction. Examples – someone trying to push a drink on you; someone pressuring you to go somewhere; someone requiring more attention than you want to offer.

You don’t need to give details, just telling any RKO person “I need to talk to someone on security about a concern” will be enough to get you pointed in the right direction.

  • Folks on security will be wearing green and yellow reflective vests that say “RKO ARMY” on the back throughout the convention.

As we have done in the past, we are offering no-contact orders for this convention. Let us know.

  • If there is someone coming to this convention who you do not feel safe around and you’re worried that they may contact you, we can reach out and explicitly tell them to not contact you.
  • Contact includes coming up to you in person, texting or messaging you, having other people relay messages to you, or any sort of contact with you that happens during the convention.
  • This includes contact that happens anywhere and everywhere during the convention, not just at our venues.
  • If they violate the no contact order, we will meet with them. Depending on what happened, the extent/frequency of the violation(s), and your wishes, this will result in anything from warnings to eviction.
  • “But what if I don’t know if this person who makes me feel unsafe is going?” You can ask us, and we will find out.

If you have any concerns about someone at this convention, whether they are concerns for yourself, a friend, or the safety of the general public, please let us know.

  • We do not care what was arranged before
  • It is NEVER too late to realize that you don’t feel safe with a hotel roommate and ask for a switch
  • It is NEVER too late to tell someone that you don’t feel safe with a scene partner and need to have scenes changed

Remember, YOU are not the problem.
